    To say the volcano (and your photo of it) is very impressive is something of an understatement. I'm assuming the shot was tripod-mounted and it looks like the exposure was fairly quick (I'm not seeing much, if any motion blur indicating a long-exposure). I ask 'cause I've never had the privilege to shoot lava before. Another question: did you visit with an expedition of other volcanologists or did you go with a local tour company. I ask for I'm planning on a lengthy trip in parts of E. Africa next summer and desire to visit the DRC. Not speaking much French combined with a 'fluid' security situation there would most likely necessitate the use of a tour company. Any advice or contacts would be much appreciated. Thanks for the photos - certainly great motivation!!
